"Hi! I'm Amana, a third-year Business Admin student from the Maldives and I'm so excited to be your General Officer for 2026! I joined MONSU as a volunteer last year as I was passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all the students and ensuring that they are represented well in their university journey. Through helping out at multiple events, I was able to fully understand how important it is to be involved in making the student experience as enjoyable and memorable as possible, even when some aspects of university life is tough and challenging.
I'm very passionate about contributing to student wellbeing and helping others feel included. I enjoy meeting and connecting with new people, working in teams, and assisting in various events that bring students together. Outside of university, I love cooking, exploring new suburbs, spending quality time with my friends and trying new food spots around Melbourne. I also enjoy collecting fridge magnets from all the countries I've travelled to (I still have a long way to go...).
This year, I hope to create engaging social content and opportunities that makes students aware of these events and encourages them to get involved and make the most of campus life. I'm looking forward to making valuable connections, supporting the wider student community and contributing to a memorable year at MONSU Peninsula.
