Understanding and Responding to Sexual Violence as Healthcare Workers is brought to you by guest speaker May Sheldon.
May is a Paramedic with Ambulance Victoria, and Monash University Graduate. Before securing a job with AV, May was the Melbourne district manager for a non-profit organisation called the Freya Foundation.
The Freya Foundation was a Queensland-based organisation focused on improving the response of healthcare professionals to patients who have experienced sexual violence. Even though the Freya Foundation is no longer active, May continues to advocate for raising the levels of care provided to patients who have experience sexual violence.
PARASOC is lucky enough to host May on Friday 14th to deliver an educational session on Understanding and Responding to Sexual Violence as Healthcare Workers, aiming to improve student confidence and increase quality of care.
