The MONTEE Legacy Award

Overview

Awarded to an individual who is in their final years as a Monash undergraduate, and has made a significant contribution to MONSU Peninsula during their studies. They must have had a minimum of 2-3 years involvement in volunteering, council, and/or clubs.


Eligibility

Nominees must:

  • Be a current Monash Peninsula student
  • Completing their studies in 2026
  • Be a registered volunteer, elected student representative or part of a club or society with MONSU Peninsula for a minimum of 2-3 years
  • Made a significant contribution to MONSU Peninsula during their studies

 

2025 Recipient: Serene Martin

MONSU Volunteer of the Year, 2024 & MONSU Peninsula Welfare Officer, 2025

During her time with MONSU Peninsula, Serene has earned a reputation for her genuine love for her community. Her dedication to the student community was evident from the beginning. She was recognised in 2024 as a co-recipient for volunteer of the year, most notably for her work in the welfare program and initiatives like Breakfast Bar. Her commitment to student welfare saw her elected to the role of Welfare Officer in 2025, maintaining her involvement with a range of programs, as well as promoting her own Mental Health Monday initiative @welfaremonsupen. Serene’s presence at MONSU has been a consistent source of kindness and support for others. An exemplary student leader, her influence on our community will be experienced for years to come.
